Donisha Thurman is the owner and lead Legal Nurse Consultant of Thurman and Associates Nurse Consulting, LLC. She has been a registered nurse for over seven years. 

She represents a seasoned, detail-oriented, and hardworking professional nurse. She earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing at Benedictine University in 2019, where she graduated with honors. Prior, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Resurrection University in 2015. 

She became a certified legal nurse consultant through the CLNC certification institute in 2021. Afterward, she completed a Legal Nurse Consultant accelerator program in 2022. Donisha began her nursing career at Rush Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. 

She initially started as a new graduate float nurse, working on the med-Surg, telemetry, orthopedics, and skilled nursing units. She transitioned to the MICU department and began her critical care specialty. During her time as an ICU nurse, she also worked as a rapid response nurse, charge nurse, EPIC EMR trainer, and per diem in the Post anesthesia care department. In 2018, Donisha began her travel nursing career as a perioperative, post-anesthesia care nurse. She has traveled to many hospitals across the country, working with various policies and electronic record systems. Additionally, she has gained experience and training with many different electronic medical record systems. These systems include Epic, Cerner, and Meditech. 

Donishas’ skills include identifying patient trends, abnormal assessments, and potential impediments to patient care and safety. She embodies excellent communication skills and strongly emphasizes building rapport through interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, her strengths include a strong work ethic, time management, a strong sense of accountability, and adaptability. 

Throughout her career, she has refined her problem-solving techniques, allowing her to develop expert critical thinking skills further, including identifying and resolving obstacles to goal achievement. Providing consistent, dependable, detailed, and organized work products for all my attorney clients is something she prides herself on.
